Heritage is a tribute to my grandma, Gemma, who taught me how to sew when I was young. In this project, I experimented with a new technique—weaving, blending different threads to symbolize our connection. Heritage consists of three woven pieces representing our bond in my childhood, adolescence, and the present.
The trio of woven pieces serves as a reflective journey through various stages of my life, capturing a spectrum of emotions and challenges. The childhood piece, with its vibrant and playful colors, highlights the joy and carefree spirit of those early years spent with my grandma. It's a visual celebration of the positive memories and the foundation she laid for me.
The adolescence piece, with its darker tones,  reflects the struggles and uncertainties that often accompany that stage of life. The weaving technique itself symbolizes the complexities of navigating through those challenging times, and the darker colors signify the emotional weight I carried during that period.
The return to pastel colors in the current piece is a powerful representation of growth, acceptance, and inner peace. It suggests a journey of self-discovery and a sense of coming full circle, finding comfort in the lessons and values passed down by my grandma.

Each piece incorporates various materials, blending with threads that symbolize memories. I also conducted a photo shoot using a mirror as a way to reflect on my memories.
